If you take a drive you are bound to see some kind of wildlife and I love that.... In this first picture look at the grizzly's front right paw.... You see that it is chopped right off! Poor thing wont make it through winter I bet... Hope you enjoy the pics

(This is going to be put into a couple different post so its not way long)

So we made it to the great state of Alaska on July 3rd and loving every bit of it. Nice weather, beautiful surroundings and a wonderful house for us to live in. Cant complain not one bit. Now once winter comes who knows if our complaining will start! LOL

Here are some pictures from our road trip. Lets just say it was long long long. Poor Sterling was about to die being in the truck that long. Good thing he wont remember it being that long! We got lots of pictures to show him tho.

On our road trip we went through St. Louis so here is the Arch. That was the first time I got to see it.

Then next stop John Wayn's birth place Winterset, Iowa

Then Mount Rushmore. So awesome!!!

Then Spokane, WA with some friends that are practically family....

Then Canada! This was the first glacier we saw. So we had to put Sterling in the pic! ( Look at his face priceless)

Baby Blessing

In our church we bless a child when they are first born. We bless them with a name and give them a blessing of a happy life and things that they need to do in life. This past sunday we blessed Sterling and lets just say it was so good. Sterling and Bryce looked so handsome in their matching ties, pants, shirts, and boots! Well here are the pics.......

I couldnt ask for no other 2 men in my life, cause these 2 are perfect to me!

So on May 5th little Sterling Bryce River was born at 2:06pm. 5 pounds 10 ounces and 19.5 inches long. He is the most precious little boy I have ever seen (but then again Im his momma so of course Im going to think that) He came 2 1/2 weeks early and man was I glad. I was getting so misareble I was trying to put myself into labor as soon as I hit 37 weeks.

So here are a few of the things I was trying.

5 days before I had him Bryce and I went and shot around cause it was a beautiful day. I was up and around all day and lets just say I was so tired when we got home.

Was it the shooting that put me into labor?

Walking, walking and some more walking. My hips were hurting, he was so low that it felt like someone sucker punched me in my tail bone, and I felt so tired no matter what I did.

Was it the walking that put me into labor?

Then we went to a nautral vitamin store 3 days before he came and asked what would put me into labor. They gave me Black Cohosh. Lets just say it made my braxton hicks come alot stronger and then on the third day it turned into contractions.

So was it the Black Cohosh? I dont think no one will know.

I woke up at 2am with the contrations 4 minutes apart and I just knew we needed to go to the hospital. We got there and I was almost 2cm and they wanted to keep me til 7am to see if I was progressing any. When they checked at 7am I progressed a little and the doctor decided to admit me and we were going to have a baby! At 10am they broke my water and put me on pitocin. Then at 11am I got my epidural which was a saving grace. Then at 12pm I was a 3cm and 100% efaced.We asked the doc when we should be expecting the baby and he said "Since your a first time mom it wont be til later on tonight, hopefully before the hockey game at 7pm" So I fell asleep and then at 1:30pm I kept feeling like I had to push. Told the nurse and she said that she was going to check me. I was 9 1/2cm! She said we are going to have a baby within 30 min. I was so nervous cause I didnt know if I would push good enough and I did not want to be pushing for hours at a time. Lets just say I pushed for no more then 6 minutes and Baby Sterling made his famous debut to the world.The doc almost missed it cause he was trying to put his gloves on. It was the best feeling in the whole world to have such a beautiful little man to love on.

Im just so grateful that he came safe and sound and with no problems. He is a healthy bugger.

This has been one crazy year for Bryce and I...

Not only did we get reunited from this Deployement with camaras in our face, expecting our first child and preparing for him, but we lost 2 very amazing and influential people in our lives. (Just a week apart!)

We got a phone call from Bryces older brother Blair early early in the morning telling us that he was in the hospital cause he hasnt been feeling good and when he went to the doctor his heart was going crazy so they wanted to admit him. Then later that day we found out he had double Pnemonia and they were going to get it with antiboitics. Then the next day we hear he is going to ICU cause the Pnemonia is bad. Then the next day we get the phone call that they are putting him on life support cause his body needs to fully just work on getting rid of the Pnemonia. All we were getting was he is going to be fine he just has to fight it off. So we were waiting for the phone call to pack up and leave if we have too. But no one sounded to worried til we got the phone call saying its not good and you have to leave now. So we went and got paper work signed at 10 pm came home and packed and left by 11:30 pm.

That was the worse 24 hour drive. Not only you didnt know if he was going to make it but we were not there to hear it from the doctor themself how bad it was. I was 28 weeks pregnant and man that was so hard. My body hurt like no other. I felt like I went threw a cheese grater.

For those 4 days at the hospital we were on a emoitional rollercoaster. One minute we would hear good news then we would hear that he took 5 steps backwards. Then right after we got there they found out it was Swine Flu that turned into double Pnemonia. He passed away 4 days after we made it.

He was young and loved by anyone he meet. He was a great father to his daughter Sascha. And a great friend and a even better Brother. We were glad we were able to make it and see him in the hospital. We will always treasure the memories with him.

This is the family the day of the funeral.

Then the day before the funeral I got the phone call from my sister asking me if I heard from mom and dad? (While she was crying) And I said no. She then tells me that our Uncle Bill passed away that morning. I just couldnt help it but just start crying. I just couldnt handle any more. When were we going to get a break! We came home for 1 funeral not 2!

Now looking back Im greatful that we were able to be there for family and the funeral. I know that they are way better off then us down here.

I hope they both know how much we love them and miss them each day. That they will never be forgotten.

Bryce is home!

So Bryce has been officially home for 2 weeks and 1 day! I dont have any pics from that day but we will have that whole day on tape... Actually Lifetime Network is having a new show called "Coming home" and Bryce and I was picked! So if you watch it and see me please dont make fun of me cause all I did was cry the WHOLE time... I told the producer if you want cryers just get a pregnant army wife to do a taping of the homecoming and you will have a cryer the whole time! It was a very cool experience but Im kinda nervous to watch myself on TV looking completely stupid... I just keep telling myself this is for the kids when they are older...

A little recap of the day when Bryce got in....

-I got lost on my way to family parking but was still early cause the flight got pushed back another hour. Sat on the bus for 35 mins waiting to get to the hanger. Felt like I was going to throw up all morning long cause I had 5 million emotions running threw my body.
-Got on the loud speaker and said the plane will be landing in 15 minutes. I ran outside and waited in the freezing cold.
-When I saw the plane land my eyes filled with tears knowing that Bryce was safe from harm and I knew that I was going to be in his arms within minutes.
- Hundreds and I means hundreds of boys start streaming off the plane and Im just waiting like a good girl and then 10 minutes later I start to worry cause I still havent seen Bryce...BUT of course he had to be the 7th to last one off the plane and make me wait to see his handsome face!
-Then the soldiers march in and I just start scanning so I know which way to take off too.
-The moment I get to hold him for good was the best feeling in the world. He was there in 1 peice. Safe from harms way and MINE! ALL MINE! He saw the belly and it made it more real that he is getting his little man.
-He had to go turn in his weapon and sensitive items and I just had to wait, wait, and wait some more.
-Then we went to Nashville so he could see his little man on a ultrasound. He loved it! He had a grin from ear to ear. Proud little daddy....

That day was amazing... I had the man that I love with all my heart in my arms. He was here in the U.S. I dont have to have a marriage over the phone and I dont have to cuddle with a body pillow!

So on other subject it has been snowing for the past 2 days here in KY which is so crazy for this part of the country. Its so nice for Bryce and I tho cause we love the snow! So here are some pics of the snow...

This was one day and less the 12 hours later this was how much it snowed... And remember this is Kentucky it never snows here... People freak when it snows for 5 mins let alone 6 inches

(First off sorry haven't blogged in a loooonnnngggg time. I just haven't been feeling it. But I just had to share this!)

BOY!!!!!!

We are both pretty excited. We would have been happy for either but we both were hoping for a boy. It was so amazing to see this little guy moving around and feeling it at the same time. Lets just say this experience is the best and I cant wait for Bryce to be home and be here with me.... Only approx. 35 days and I will be in his arms for at least a little while. I cant wait to see this handsome face!

Alaska here we come!!!!

So these past couple of days have been so crazy! Bryce calls me and tells me you want to go to Alaska? And I was like HECK YES ( Ive been watching the Sarah Palin show) Then he said ok let me tell you why. Someone in his company had orders to Alaska he couldnt take so they told him find another soldier with the same rank and marital status. He came to Bryce and asked him. He said he would love to but he had to ask me. Well you saw my answer. Then we got our hopes up and they told us well its not going to work...it was less then a 5 percent chance.

Fast forward to last night at 10 pm. He calls and says last chance of backing out! and I was like what? He said the commander came up to him and said you moving to Alaska? Bryce came back with I sure would love too. But thats out and he had a confused look on his face and told him no I just got your orders faxed to me! So he asked again last chance to back out! Holy crap... Never thought this would happen but it sure is. With me or without me and im so ready for a new adventure with my hubby!

2011 will be a exciting year! New baby, new state!

Please Please give me some advice for a move that long. We will be doing it ourself. Also if you have any friends in Alaska and you know any advice please pass it along it would be so great!

Oh my goodness I cant believe its been a month since I have done a post. Ive been in a slump lately and just really cant get out of it.... Here are things that have happened in the last month.

-Uncle cracked open his scull and was in the hospital for 18 days.
-Grandfather went back into the hospital for a twisted intestine.
-12 weeks pregnant and just felling fat not pregnant!
-Found out for sure Bryce wont be coming home til February for sure.
-This deployment is getting really hard (i think cause of all the hormones)
-Got a new truck so we could make room for a baby.
-Celebrated our 3 year anniversary thousands of miles away from each other.
-Bryces birthday is this month and my birthday is the first of December and without him they are going to suck!

And truefully Im ready for the holidays to be over cause what is the holidays with out your love. Sorry for being such a sucky post.

Fun baby gender predictions...

So Bryces cousin asked if I have looked on the Chinese Lunar Calender to see what I was having... I didnt even know what it was so she just asked my age and the month I conceived in... Well it said a BOY! I dont trust these at all but atleast their fun! I really want a boy but would be happy with either... Then there was this old wives tail that if you take a string and needle and dangle it above your tummy or your left wrist it will go in a circle (which is a girl) or side to side (which means a boy)and that way tells you the gender of your baby... Well that one also said it was a boy... So we will just see in January and Febuary if these ancient crazy gender predictions are right...

Have any of you done these gender predictions? Were they right?

So my mother loves to sew and before I got pregnant I told her your going to make the baby this crib blanket! Well now that Im pregnant I can pick out colors.

Isnt it so adorable... We just have to pick nuetral color since I wont know the sex of the baby til we are already back in TN. But lets just say Im sooooooo excited!

Plus Bryce will be making the crib so this baby will have lots of special things from everyone!

I'm so happy and amazed at the blessings that me and Bryce have received from our Heavenly Father. Not only this pregnancy but him giving me a wonderful man to take care of me and our future kids! For a stable job that my husband is guaranteed to keep. For a wonderful family that we are surrounded by. Friends that are here for us. One quote that sticks out in my mind right now is

"Things that truly give us happiness are NOT things!"

Not only was our R&R amazing for so many reasons but we were able to make a BABY! We had been trying for about 6 months before Bryce left for Afghanistan and no luck. Things were just working in our favor in so many ways that it all worked out! Im due in May 2011 and lets just hope and pray we have no complications and everything goes a smooth as it possibly can. Bryce will be home when around my 20 week mark so he will be there when we find out the sex!

Went and saw the doctor and Im 5 weeks along today and they said just to keep care of myself!

Oh how heavenly father works in many ways and when its time you will get your little family!

Bad ankles!

Growing up being a sporty girl I have always rolled my ankles and have broke the same one twice and pulled ligaments in the other. But I was so happy that I haven't rolled either one in like 5 years! Well that ended this morning.

My Parents have a huge porch and I was on the last step... I stepped down and rolled it bad! Rolled it so bad it threw me to the ground! Layed there for about 5 minutes then told myself that I have to get back in the house so I got up and hobbled in the house... As I lay here with it up and ice on it, I have forgotten how bad it hurts! I just hate it! It should be alot better in the next couple of days but Oh goodness OUCH!

I was 13 years old in Math class... We were all sitting in silence not knowing what to say to each other... The radio was on with all of us surrounding it... Even tho we were young we knew that this day would change the future for all of us... All of our teachers that day knew that they couldn't make us work...

Now that I'm 22 years old September 11th 2001 has changed my life more then I ever thought... I'm married to a man that is in Afghanistan fighting for all of us Americans... Making sure families throughout the United States can tuck their kids in bed and know that they are safe... We can NEVER forget what happened to those people on September 11th... We can NEVER forget the soldiers who are fighting for US!

Deployment survivor... I'm 7 months in this deployment... I cry over stupid stuff... I fell like a emotional wreck cause I normally never cry... I'm the one that has to hold down the fort... I'm the one that has to keep both families happy... I'm the one that sits here in this small town and looks around and NO one knows what I'm going threw... I try with all my heart to never complain to my husband cause he has it way worse then me... These 7 months have been hard but all worth it in the end... We have come closer as a couple and we love each other more then anything... He tells me that he is proud of me for the way I'm handling the deployment...He is my hero...And i love him for what he does for me and our future kids!

So One of the days that we were in NM we went 10 miles down the road from my home town and went on a amazing hike at a National Monument. It has rock carvings and old indian ruins and just amazing stuff to look at.

Isnt it so beautiful and no one can beleive that it is New Mexico

I wish he was still here. I miss him more and more everyday that he is gone! Those two weeks were the best two weeks of my life. He is my best friend and my other half. He makes me laugh everyday and just is a big dork! Oh please let the next 5 months go by fast!

Take deep breaths.... R&R Chapter1

Thats what I had to keep telling myself. Just breath... I knew in less then a hour I would be in the arms of my best friend, my hero, my spouse. My stomach hurt so bad from being a nervous reck.

On my drive to the airport the song "Free" by the Zac Brown Band came on and I just started crying. My emotitions were high and that just did not help. I was just so excited cause I knew I would have my hubby by my side for 15 days. I just never thought that day would come and it was here right in front of me.

We arrived at the airport and I looked to see if his flight was on time and it was 10 minutes early! This was my expression when i saw it.

Then about 5 minutes later he texted me and said "we just landed" and the water works got turned on full force.

This was the sign I made for him that morning. I couldnt sleep.

My sister said this pic was the moment I saw him walking and I started walking towards the exit.

Our first hug in 6 months. I just melted right into his arms. It felt like he never left me.

And that is the moment that I felt my world was whole again. Well atleast for 15 days.

These lips were the lips that left me behind in TN exactly the same. Our first kiss was exactly the way I remember them. soft and sweet. Its amazing how you feel when you are kissed by the one you love more then anything. Your whole world just melts. Everything in that moment just stops.

That is MY sexy soldier!

Best 15 days of my life!

So I just put my husband back on a plane and my heart is half again. It was a jammed packed 15 days but oh so sweet. We went 4wheeling, Kayaking, swimming, shooting, hiking, and best of all we got Sealed for time and eternity in the Mesa temple. I will tell you guys all about it in stages. But for right now here are two pictures of us on the day we got sealed.

Guns, RPG's and Fire fights OH MY!

About 5 weeks ago Bryce and some from his company got asked to help pull security with a infantry unit. I was a little worried cause my baby didn't sign up to be 11B but I knew he would be safe. The only thing that Bryce was worried about was the fact that this convoy could take up to 30 hours. (Lets just say 30 hours in the turret would suck!) So on their way to their destination they had nothing happen til they were half way there and one of the m-raps right in front of Bryce's got hit with a IED. No one got badly hurt just some stitches and a concussion.

But then literally 2 miles down the road they were going threw a little village and received fire from the hills. Bryce started shooting back and his 50 cal jammed up, couldn't find his 249 so grabbed his drivers M4 shot all his rounds and then finally found his 249 and kept on shooting.

Then on their way back they had in countered 3 more fire fights including motors and RPG's.

Bryce called me that night when he got back and told me everything. I know this may be weird for most but I'm the wife that likes to know what kind of danger is surrounding my husband. If anything happens I know what kind of danger he was in. Alot of his buddies don't understand cause they keep 100% from their wives. But that is just the kind of relationship that we have. We keep all doors of communication open.

When he was telling me everything that happened I told him I was proud of him. That took him back for a minute. I told him if he didn't shoot back then they would have had better shots at his buddies. I was proud that he didn't freak under pressure.

When they pulled into the FOB. Hubby got out and looked at the m-rap and there was bullet holes all over the m-rap except around the turret. He said the closest one was like a foot away.

I can sit here and talk about this cause I know my husband is being watched over. I pray every night for his safety and my heart is softened with every prayer. I have faith in our Heavenly Father. That he has a plan for everyone.

Bryce is so close to coming home for R&R and we are going to be sealed for time and eternity. I know that if anything happens to him he will be waiting for me. He is the love of my life and I know that if anything happens we can get threw it. He is a very strong man to be doing what he is doing and I am so proud to be the one he choose to be by his side.

So Im living in my old home town while Bryce is gone. We drove back into our little town last night from a trip and there was no signal!?! What? So I start getting nervous cause Bryce usually calls around that time. Well we find out that the only cell tower in this town got struck by lightening! Serously? Im so mad cause we dont have a house phone and so there is no way for me to tell Bryce what happened. Yes I understand there is email but my hubby only checks his email every 2 months or so. I did email him to let him know but I wonder how long its going to take for him to read it! Oh how things suck!

I have my neices and nephew til thursday. I love having time to spend with them cause when Im over in TN I dont get to see them very much. This weekend I will be in Colorado for my grandparents 60th Anniversary. Which Im excited about cause I will see family that I havent seen for awhile.

And again sorry that I havent posted anything in a long while but it has been hecktic. Had 4 days of helping with a rodeo, sold those necklaces that I made, and tried to fit in seeing friends that I havent seen in like 4 years!

Loved the weekend but now Im so tired its not even funny.
Ill try to post again after the weekend with pictures from the 60th party.

P.S. Hubby will be here in less then 3 weeks! Oh my goodness I hope it goes by fast. But then I hope for the 15 days to go by alot SLOWER.

So I have been trying to stay busy since R&R is within a month (holy crap a month!)and I dont want to get stur crazy...
Ive been wanting to add a little girlish touch to my proud milspouse bag but didnt know what to do... Til I found the cutiest flower design. Just made it today and I love it! Got to show that your proud somehow right? So what do you think?

Here are some of the projects I have done this week... Just trying to stay busy!

Here are some of the flower headbands that make a pony tail look good!

It stays on good and makes my life easier since I will be able to just wear a ponytail and still look good!

This frame was just plan ol' wood and I got paint and elmer's glue and there you go CRACKLE!

Here is the bird cage veil that I will be wearing for the pictures before we get sealed. I think im going to add some to it but its atleast 90% done!

Adventures at the DMV

So today I went to the DMV to get hubbys truck registered here in New Mexico... My name is not on the truck so lets just say I had to walk into the DMV with a filing cabnet! (You guys know how it is) And they were so surprised that I had everything that they needed. I told them that the military gives you all the paper work you need you just got to make sure you dont lose it! They were very nice which was so surprising cause usually at places like that all of them have sticks up their butts. (if I worked at a place like that I think I would be the same way!)

I need to point out to that Arizona so rips off people with registering your vehicles. (that was were I changed our registration from) They wanted us to pay for a 1 year registration $297.00 and today I got a 2 year registration and a 8 year license for only $180.00! (a savings of $117.00) And truefully Arizonas roads are not that much better then New Mexico roads.

Im so happy to be a New Mexico resident again... I grew up here my whole life and I would love to move back here someday. Hubby was born here in NM but moved to AZ when he was six and lived in his home town til he was 22...Then moved back to NM and met me! But he agrees with me that NM is just a better fit for us finacially and over all just the way we want to live...(with land) and AZ butt raps you on land also so probably will never move back there!
Over all did what I need to do and was out of there! Hope you guys have a wonderful night!

So I weighed myself this morning and since Bryce has been gone 136 days I have lost 50 pounds exactly! I have a couple of more pounds I want to drop but not much... Just another 5 to 10 then I will be good to go! Honestly it doesn't fell like I have lost 50 pounds but my pants are falling off of me!LOL

Since I have lost the weight, I'm so excited for Bryce to see me... I weigh less then when we got married and so does he! Bryce has lost a total of 57 pounds so I'm catching up to him! I don't have a pic and I'm in my pajamas so no pic today:( But I promise a pic at least by tomorrow:)

Sorry for not keeping up with my blog... I have been in a weird funk... I dont know if its cause hubby is coming home for R&R in a month or so... Or what but I just dont feel like I have anything to write about...

So on a not so good note... Heard from hubby but wasnt the best phone converstation... We didnt fight or anything but just heard things about whats going over there... Not so good stuff but Im so so happy that he feels like he can talk to me about this stuff cause im the wife that needs to know the good the bad and the ugly...

On another great and happy note... bought me and hubby a 4-wheeler! A used one from a older country man that took amazing care of it... We are so excited cause we will have so much more fun camping and stuff! Yah for 4-wheeler! This is something Bryce has wanted so bad. Its something that just keeps on giving and giving...

Ok so you know how I told you that me and hubby will be getting sealed for time and eternity in August? Well I have this wonderful friend that sews like a mad woman and she is going to make me a dress. I wanted to go with a vintage theme cause Bryce will be wearing his class A's (and lets be serious those have not changed since WWII) So I have been all over the internet looking for ideas. I like the cocktail dress look with the bottom flowing out. So now I have to decide what kind of top I would like... My fabric is cotton cause I didnt want to be to to dressy...And thats what alot of dresses where made of back then... Its a cream color with mint green polka dots on it. Very cute but very sophisticated... So now I have 2 types of dresses that I would love for you guys to vote on and let me know... Im torn between the two of them cause well lets be honest they both are adorable... (and please ignore the horrible pics had to take it with camara and lets just say HORRIBLE) Could'nt copy and paste

So I just got a amazing phone call from the hubby this morning. First thing that came out of his mouth was "I have great news for you and bad news for me". And I was like crap I rather have the bad for me and good for you. Then he proceeds to tell me that his waiver went threw and he is getting promoted 6 months to the date exactly before he ever suppose to get it. The bad news for him is that he has to go to a mock board the end of July. Sucks for him. He so does not want to do a damn board cause that thing is so stressful. But YAH on the $250 pay raise a month! Its a win, lose situation. More responsibility but I know my baby will do great! Love you sugar and I'm so proud of everything you do and the hard work you put into everything. These are one of those days that you say "I'm so so so PROUD of my soldier"

Havent had to much stuff happen to me today...(or the past couple of days) Had to change our insurance cause our current one doesnt insure in New Mexico... Had to call Tricare and make sure I could go see a doctor cause Im no where near a Fort, Camp or AFB... And I can I just have to pay $50 cause Im not in Prime no more... I dont care cause I dont go to the doctor that much...

Last night I watched a movie called "Taking Chance" and Oh my goodness that was a mistake... Its about a Col. bringing a marine back to his family after dieing in Iraq... I cried the whole movie like balling my eyes out crying... I never thought of "that could be Bryce" but in the movie the marine's Sgt that was there with him when he died talks to the Col. and has so much emotion and its heart broken. I was just praying that Bryce will never have to go and bring back one of his fallen brothers... I just pray that no one would die over there. All I can say its a great movie but I have warned you... If you are too emotional dont watch it but if you think you can do its a great movie...

So as you know from my previous post that my hubby has been gone 90 days... What have I done in those 90 days you ask... I have lost 31 pounds! I do have to say I have been working my butt off (literally) trying to get back into the shape I was in High school... I let myself go... But Im trying to get back the way I use to be since Im still young and it will be easier now then 10 years down the road... I would love to lose another atleast 20 pounds, 30 would be good too tho LOL... I do have to say people are saying I dont need to lose another 30 pounds but that is my personal goal for myself... Your always harder on your self then you are on other people...

I just wanted to write and say YAY for 31 pounds!

Today I have been pretty busy... Did 2 cuts and colors and that's better then sitting here being mopey cause its not going by faster!

But... Bryce got another recognition coin from a Colonel this time! It was amazing for him to get 1 let alone 2... I'm so proud of him and that everyone has been able to see what a hard worker he is and to get noticed... I know all you know what its like! Its so hard for our husbands to put out 100% everyday and not get noticed and it makes them not want to work as hard... But when you do get noticed it is just icing on the cake! So lets just say Bryce has had a really good couple of days...Days like that he says this isn't that bad... But the bad days are BAD... But I know that he has had better days then bad... Its just gloomy days over there when you see the flag at half mass.... If its your unit or not all those guys are his brothers... would do anything for any of them... When I talk to him I know that somethings bother him that he doesn't like telling me but he does out of respect for me and what he promised to tell me...

On a happy not tho (well for Bryce it is)

He bought one of his buddies PS3 for only $40! Yeah something to do with his Fiance having one and so he offered it to Bryce for that price...

I have NEVER been a person that likes games and I have seen wives fight and fight with their husbands to just get off the game and spend sometime with each other and I told myself I will never have a game console in my house...

Well for $40 bucks I guess we can but hubby already knows my problem with it and he agrees! so we will see as soon as he gets home... Bottom line tho it could turn into just a DVD player LOL!

Sundays are always good but when you get to do the things you love Oh that makes it so much better!!!
So I went through my normal routine on Sundays getting up and going to church... But when I got back from church my wonderful dad said hey you want to go for a ride? And that only means one thing in my family... get your jeans on, pull your boots on and lets get on our horses! So on our ride we saw no wild life (boo hoo) but I got some beautiful pics! We rode about 12 miles and let me say my butt is sure feeling it but that is one of the greatest therapy's...You think of nothing...
Were we rode was on some of my Great Grandmas land and then the National Forest... It takes my breath away every time!

I know, I know I look like a boy here but my horse doesn't care what I look like:)

My dad will be turning 57 this year and still gets on his horse almost everyday and ropes...It keeps him young!

This is us heading back into my home town of 300 people... Its such a beautiful town...It is in northern New Mexico and yes its not desert. LOL

I hope to move back to this town one day with my family...

2nd Wedding Anniversary

So I thought today that I would do a bio of me and my husband...

So when I just graduated high school I moved to Farmington NM with my cousin Katrina... We were so excited to be out on our own and just go to school... I didn't have a boyfriend at the time and I didn't want one either! (In high school I dated the same guy for 2 1/2 years I was done with bf's) Well in the LDS church they have a ward called the singles ward and that's where you are around people your age. They have classes that you can learn more about the book of Mormon and the bible. On Monday's they have FHE (family home evenings) where we play games and just hangout and have a total blast!!! So when I was in institute (classes) I saw a guy walk in who was tall and handsome...AND a cowboy!!! So of course at that moment I was like my type of guy but I was thinking of just being friends cause remember I didn't want a boyfriend... Lets just say we started talking and he asked me out on dates all the time...I wasn't ready tho so we would make it a huge group date every time... I felt bad but I was 18 and he was a returned missionary and come on he so wanted to get married!!! So for about 10 months I dodged the bullet and we never got serious or anything and that was my plan... But at the end of the spring semester I went threw one of the hardest times of my life...My wonderful grandmother who was the most wonderful woman you could have been around was in the hospital taking her last breaths... and at that time "the cowboy" was txting me and lets just say it was so nice having someone out of the family truly care for me and want to be there for me...

A couple of weeks later "the cowboy" asked if I would go to a Kenny Chesney concert with him... Of course I said yes who wouldn't its a concert!!! But I had a reservation about him cause he was a returned missionary and I was so not ready to get married... But my wise older sis Stacey gave me some words to hold on to...Then lets say from there we starting seeing each other almost everyday and a month in a half later he proposed!!! (See he totally wanted to get married!!!) But in those days of us dating I fell deeply in love with him and I'm so greatful that I let him in my life... He is my best friend and I'm so greatful that he chased after me for 10 months and didn't give up...I would have been the one who missed out on the best thing that could have happened to me...

We got married 4 months later on Oct. 13th 2007. This year we will be celebrating 3 years together... And in August I will be sealed to this wonderful man...

So "the cowboy" knew what he wanted and lets say with hard work and not giving up he got it!!!

So this summer will be my grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversry!!! I hope one day me and my hubby could be married that long...But I went up and took some pics of them and these three are the best we got!!! My Papa just turned 86 and each day is getting harder and harder for him...So im so greatful that they are able to celebrate that time with eachother:)

Me and My parents made our way north up to Durango, Colorado to see my grandparents and my Aunt and Uncle... It was my granddaddy's 86th birthday so we decided that we needed to go...Which I'm so glad we did cause boy do I love being around them...And also this year it is going to be my grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversary so I took some pictures of them for the invitations... I will show you some of them when I get them edited...

When my family gets together the first things that they like to do is play cards... My dad and Uncle Bill was playing Texas hold'em and my little cousins Rowdy and Denton were playing war...And Aunt Pat was making sure Rowdy and Denton didn't kill each other....

My name is Whitney but everyone calls me Whit...My hubby's name is Bryce...

My hubby and I got hitched on October 13fth 2007.

We have no children but we sure would love some!!! To bad he is thousands and thousands of miles away to even try:) (AFGHANISTAN) Big Sigh....

I am a hairstylist that loves to do hair!!! Couldn't find any other job that I would love more then that!

Hubby has been in the army 16 months and loves it... His main goal is to become a Police Officer but would still make the Army as a career...

I love my husband to death...I am a girl version of him...We love to camp, fish, hunt, ride horses and hike...I know your probably thinking she totally cant be a hairstylist and still love to get dirty!!! Well here I am cause as long as I can take a shower after the 5 day camping trip I'm good!!!

I grew up in a very small town...Of maybe 300 ppl...And my husband grew up in a bigger town then that but still not big...

I grew up in a Rodeo family and I love it to death... I hope some day when we get settled in one place we will be able to get some horses and teach our kids responsibility....One day....

Family is everything to us...

We are very strong in our Church...

We heart our friends...and love them like family

Little Pic from BCT Graduation

It has been officially 58 days since my best friend has been in The STAN....He is doing great...He has lost a total of 40 Pounds since he has been gone...I'm so proud of him...He has been on 6 convoys and he loves going on those things...He says it makes the days go by faster...A little story from his last convoy...
He was starting to get a cold so he bought some Nightquil(SP)and he took it and then went and ate dinner so it would kick in and as soon as he got back to the tent he could go right to sleep...Well after dinner it still didn't kick in 100% so he started watching Step Brothers on his psp with head phones on...Well lets just say my hubby has the cutest laugh that when he laughs you bust out laughing...Its contagious! Well you know that really tired feeling and drunk feeling at the same time when you take that dang medicine and you try to stay up a little longer??? Well lets just say that movie was making my husband laugh on parts that you normally wouldn't... And when Bryce woke up the next morning a Sgt that he loves came up to him and said what were you watching last night??? Bryce answer with Step brothers...Sgt says that's a funny movie but not that funny... Then Bryce had to explain that he took medicine and lets just say he felt a little loopy in the head so anything and everything was funny...Then Sgt said that the whole tent was laughing every time Bryce would laugh...Him telling me stories like that makes me miss him even more...

-His laugh that is so funny and unique I can just hear it
-Him laying his head on my lap when its Saturday morning and both of us still not ready to wake up
-Him driving everywhere
-Our late night talks when we should be sleeping
-Him wrapping his arms around me and giving the best hugs ever

-His smell...I can spray is cologne on my army teddy bear but it still doesn't smell exactly like him

So Bryce got his surprise box today... You may ask what was in it??? Well I got him a PSP!!! Its small enough to take on convoys and to be able to watch movies, play games, pictures and music! It will keep him busy when they get to wherever they are going...He loved it... He said that as soon as I said I was sending him a surprise the first thing that popped in his head was a PSP...Lets just say im glad I got what he wanted....
But he got really sick on his way back from the convoy...Headache, Throwing up, and just feeling like crap...I fill so bad cause all you want when you are sick is for someone to take care of you and Abvously no Sgt. is going to get him a 7 up and make him fell better...I miss you baby wish I was there to take care of you...

I still need to clean my room and get my cloths hung up cause I'm living out of a suit case still...I know I know I have been home for 5 weeks and still living out of a suit case!?! I just don't fill like putting things away cause it seems so permanent and lets just say I don't want it to be permanent without my hubby!!!!

On the subject of him, he is doing really good...Going on convoys and staying busy... I sent his surprise package to him yesterday so it should get there in 8-10 days hopefully closer to the 8 day mark:) Lets just say he better love it...I'm pretty sure he will. He loves to play things and that's my only hint!!!

Yesterday was a really bad day for me....I was listening to the radio and the worst song came on... I'm already home by Tim Mcgraw...Lets just say that is one song that should not come on when your husband is over in Afghanistan...And right as soon as the song came on the tears just started...I was like holly crap give me a freakin break...Then the day just stayed bad...i was thinking of him constantly and would just start crying...I miss my best friend...I cant wait for him to put his arms around me and just hold me and never let go (well atleast for 15 days)...

So a fellow blogger is going threw a hard time right now...her husbands humvee flipped and he was killed...I fill so bad for her...they have a little baby girl that is 3 months old...

Please keep all the military in your prayers, pray that all of them can be out of harms way and so they can come back to all their loved ones...and pray for the spouses who have lost their husbands...

So before Bryce left he was 2 percent over on his body fat percentage....Well 3 weeks into being deployed he has lost 19 pounds and now only has 21 percent body fat which means he is 1 percent under....I'm so happy for him and he is doing so good and just keeping focused and wanting to lose the weight so he doesn't have to worry about a body fat test ever again...Lets be honest he will never be 200 pounds but he wont have to worry about failing it ever again...I think he has noticed how much calories are in foods cause at the DFAC they have everything labeled with how many calories are in it...I told him to reward himself with a cheese burger or something but not to get back in his bad habits of eating alot...Everyone has noticed all of his hard work so that helps too...

And for me I'm just here in Gilbert enjoying my time with my family...The kids put a big smile on my face...We were going to take the kids to the park and Lexi looks up at me and says "Aunt Whitney you need to call Uncle Brycie and tell him he needs to go to the park with us"...(and her big ol' eyes looking up at me) I said "baby Uncle Brycie is too far away and he wont be back for a long time...He cant come" then the frown came and then she turns her head back to the movie "UP"...Oh how I wish I could think like that...Forget what upsets me...and then go on with my life...Oh what I wish to be 5 again, no worries in the world...

Oh and I have a really good package I'm getting ready for Bryce cant wait to send it off...Ill write and tell you what I'm sending after Bryce gets it!!! Don't want to ruin the surprise....

These past three weeks have gone by fast but at the same time has gone pretty slow...I guess its just depends on the days....Bryce has done a amazing job over there...He got a recognition coin from a Master Sgt.!!!! In the army that is a big deal...I'm so happy that everyone is noticing how great a soldier/Man he is...He works so hard to do the right thing and be the best soldier he can be...Food is good over there, he has lost about 10 pounds and he loves having his computer to play on...He was on Guard Tower Duty but he is no longer...Which he is not too upset about...(The other boys would wake him up at 7am when he was only asleep for 5 hours) So now he is working with all his guys again...His Lt. was mad cause he wanted Bryce to go on a convoy and he found out he was on Guard Tower duty and he said why are we putting our best guys in towers when we need them with us...I just love hearing all the great things being said about Bryce....I do have to say I am one PROUD army wife.....I love him so much and have no idea what i would do without him....

I have been pretty busy here at home....Doing hair around town has kept me pretty busy... I also just got back from Oklahoma cause me, my mom and dad went to the timed events...Which was a blast Bryce would enjoy it so much...We will just have to get tickets for next year!!! And this weekend going to Gilbert to spend some much needed time with my nieces and nephew who i adore...And cant wait to spend some much needed time with my sisters too.... Get our taxes done while I'm down there and do a practice up do for Bryce's cousin...who is getting married in April how exciting....So I guess I have had alot on my plate...I like it that way tho....Makes me forget for 2 seconds that my husband is all the way across the world fighting for our country in a war that needs to be fought....

Bryce is officially at his FOB as of yesterday...They are going to be keeping him pretty busy so they can learn all the trucks and different missions they will have to go on...I know that this is just as hard on Bryce as it is on me...I know he will be safe tho he is in a really great unit that is known for going in there and getting the job done...And lets just say thats Bryce to a T...Im so proud to say that im a soldiers wife expecially a wife to a very great soldier...I miss him so much...Please keep him in your prayers and all the rest of the soldiers that are fighting for the American people...Well lets just hope that 12 months go by fast cause it is going to suck if it doesnt...

So today Bryce and I Played a hour game of Racquetball. It was so fun but now I'm pooped.....And the funniest thing happened Bryce was getting ready to served and I hit it right back but I didn't hit the wall I hit him right in the forehead!!!!!Right smack dab in the middle of his forehead...OPPS my bad. I felt horrible... He had a big red mark on his forehead like a target for awhile. And we are just hanging out today... We might go dancing at a country bar with some friends and that should be fun...

So for those who didn't know it was Bryce's Birthday this past Saturday.... We went to Hooters so he could watch his boy TITO fight...It was a good figth but he did loose, Bryce was Sad!!!!And also while he was in the bathroom I told our girl that it was his birthday....They pulled him into the middle of the restaurant stuck balloons in his shirt (he said that he felt violated with 4 girls unbuttoning his shirt haha) and then put a cup in his mouth to look like a beek and gave him menus for his wings. It was so funny!!! I laughed for a while... And the even funnier part Bryce went by a table and he hears "River?!!! Its your birthday?" It was someone in his company and no one knew it was his birthday cause he didnt want to have to do push ups.... But over all it was a great birthday Im so glad he had it off...

I got him a Digital camo computer bag for the lab top that we are going to get him on black friday...oh what fun we are going to have with fighting the crowds and waking up at 12:00 am so you are able to get it....I truely do love doing black friday cause of the amazing sales....YAY

Bryce getting promoted

So yesterday Bryce got promoted out of no where!!! He was getting ready for formation and Sgt. Martinez walked up to bryce and said "you got your rank?" Bryce said "what do you mean?" "Dude your getting promoted today!" So Bryce jumped in the car and we had to run to the shoppette and get him a Private First Class rank and drive back as fast as we could without getting caught by some MP's and not miss his fromation that he is suppose to get his rank. Well we made it with no tickets and also just in the nick of time!!!! So now he is getting slowly but surely up the rank:) Im so proud of him.... He would come home and say "babe i was the only one working my tail off and no one notices!!!" Well now we know they do notice. Im so happy that the hard work is paying off and that Bryce fells accomplished.... Well thats the great news for ya....

So here in the great area of Ft. Campbell we were fortunate to have the show Extreme Home Makeover come and help out a Widow with 3 girls. Her husband was a Clarksville Police officer that died in a high speed chase. Its a beautiful home for them. So here is the house that they built for the family in 7days!!!!

And also that night we went camping on base at Kyle lake!!! Its was so beautiful. It wasn't to cold. Our mattress went low cause Bryce didn't screw the cap on tight enough, so the hours that we were sleeping on a air mattress I slept like a baby;)But he woke up about 4 and made me get off so he could re air it up....We sure love to camp and we knew it was getting pretty chili so if we wanted to go here was our chance...our and there is a pic of my homemade gravy and biscuits....Aren't you proud of me mom:)Well i hope Ya'll have a great day....

So for those who didn't know it was mine and Bryce's 2 year anniversary on Oct.
13th. YAY 2 years!!! And one of our great friends Victoria took these wonderful pictures of us... These are the most beautiful pics (and I have to say the background is what makes the pics) But she did a awesome job and I love them so much. Oh and we have about 30 more great ones I just didn't want to seem to conceded...LOL But here they are... You can really see what Tennessee is all about, COUNTRY!!!!!

Oh BTW the railroad pics are my fav but we could have gotten in so much trouble cause it was a NO TRESPASSING ZONE (which we didn't know til we were walking back to the car) and we got off the railroad walking back to the car, Bryce had to go pee so you know him he did his business and as soon as he walked over the road a cop pulled out from behind the building!!! We were so lucky cause I guess its a good hefty ticket if your on a no trespassing government property. oh well the pics where so worth it:)

So Bryce has been at Ft. Polk Louisiana for 2 weeks and 1 day and they are getting into the very intense training. They are fufilling there dreams as little boys to be able to be G.I. Joe and not get hurt!!! They make the training as real as it can be without literally shooting real bullets at people and them shooting at you!!! But here are some pics that he was able to take of some medevac birds (black hawk's) picking up hurt soldiers (now remember its all pretend hurt)and there was some pics of apaches from far away shooting at the enemy... It sounds like so much fun... Now im not going to join just because of the cool training ever once in awhile but I can live threw him and how much fun he has on some of the convoys. Just wanted to share some of Bryces adventures with you so here you go!!!

Its amazing that everyone has forgotten about 9/11 but the war on terrorist is still going!!! Like many families that have fathers/mothers, sons/daughters, husbands/wives, Bryce will be going over to Afanistan to protect us! PLEASE dont forget and pray for all those that have died, served, and is still serving!!! For us as Americans that havent served we can get on our knees and pray for them to be safe, I think that is our obligation since we are not throwing our selves into harms way. Thank goodness for our freedom!!!

So we are here and have been here for about 3 weeks..... I love it here.... Its so beautiful BUT the humidity SUCKS.... but oh well just will have to get use to that....

( which is where all the vehicles are that they drive) Bryce is under the second truck behind the guy whos head is poking out haha And let me tell you, your tax dollars are going to a good place. NOT!!!! This is what bryce has done for the past 5 days.... I guess they just want them to get use to being in the hot hot weather!!! There is nothing we can do about that tho!!!

So on thursday it will be exactly 2 WEEKS til Bryce graduates!!! Im not going to lie this week has been really hard and I just want it to be over!!!! Its so close I can taste it but it still feels like it is dragging on like no other....

But on a good note the past 3 weekends I have been able to go to Ft. Bliss and spend 24 hours with him... And they have all been wonderful, just cause I can be in the presence of my husband again!!! (for a short while atleast)

And then as soon as he graduates we will have a little break and then its off to Tennessee!!!! Cant wait for that!!!

So we found out on sunday we will be going to Ft. Campbell, Kentucky!!!! Well right on the border literally of Kentucky and Tennessee so which ever state you want to choose!!! And we dont have to report til June 29th so we have 5 weeks to just hang out!!! Just cant wait for Bryce to graduate on the 22nd of May... just 4 1/2 weeks away!!!

The best day of my life (besides our wedding day)

So the trip to South Carolina was good (except the plane ride)the only thing that kept me on the plane was knowing that I was going to be with my husband!!! And I might add he looks so good I have a whole new husband...

Let me start with us waiting on the bleachers looking out in the trees trying to see them...Then right on time here comes the soldiers running out of the forest line...I knew what area to look at for ECHO company but might I add they all look the same...Then the Lt. told you to go get your soldier... trying and searching to see Bryce and then I found him!!! He lost so much weight and looks so good...That was at about 9:30 and we got to spend the whole day with him on base... We had lunch at a Lake and then went and ate dinner with his whole company at the Soleman center, went to the Ft. Jackson Museum which had huge tanks and stuff around it, then had to tell him goodnight (which wasn't bad cause I knew I had all Friday with him again)...

Graduation day was good... I have never felt so proud to be AMERICAN in my life... And so PROUD to be married to a soldier in the ARMY... Then the graduation was over and Bryce was so happy to go to civilization...And we just pretty much relaxed that day cause he got so sick from the rain...not so good...but hopefully he will get over it really soon... And then had to say good bye which was hard but at the same time all I tell myself is 7 weeks I can totally do 7 weeks that wont be bad... hopefully I just got threw 10 weeks

All in All it was the best trip ever and I have never ever felt the feelings I have felt this past week!!! I'm PROUD to be AMERICAN..... And here is alot of the pictures taken

GRADUATION!!!!

So Bryce is officially graduating from BCT (BOOTCAMP) on Friday!!!! And on Wed. at 6:00am I have to get on the first plane ride of my life!!!! Its going to be well worth it cause I could never say "Babe not coming cause I'm too afraid of getting on the plane, Sorry" I could never hear the sadness in his voice if I told him that.... But besides that I'm so so so EXCITED to see my husband... It is going to be like we just got married for the first time again. You have no idea how much I miss him and I just cant wait to be in his presence again!!! He makes me a better person and I never thought that I would find someone like him....( I'm just so glad he chased me for 10 months ;)) Well enough of the mushy gushy stuff... I will post pics of his graduation on here for all to see.....Pray for the plane to not be held my duct tape!!!LOL

So in Bryces letter he said it is getting a little and I mean little easier. The DS (Drill Sgt.) isn't constantly in his face and he is getting along with the 2 men DS but not the woman DS. I just think that he is waiting for the next 3 weeks to go by a little faster don't think that will happen tho. (Sorry Honey) And he just needs family right now cause there is nothing i mean nothing to talk to except 1 LDS guy. Which is better then no one...Also today in my old ward where my records will get transferred I got a calling.... In the PRIMARY!!!! Which is way cool I don't mind teaching kids except if they are naughty ( which I'm cursed so I'm going to get the rowdiest kids :( Oh well it will prepare me for the RIVER genes that our kids will definitely have ;) I'm also going to start subbing to take up time so i don't go bald from pulling my hair out!!!! But yea that is the excitement in the big town of Ramah........KISS KISS

Today Bryce was able to call me. Just hearing his voice was exactly what I needed. Hes doing great and in 4 weeks and 5 days he graduates. YAY!!! I'm so excited to go see him but I'm nervous of getting on the first plane ride of my life! Glad I'm going to have grandma Hinton and Kathy with me tho.... Just counting down the days and its not going as fast as I wish. I'm so proud of my soldier!!!!

I love this country, but the fact that we allow a lawsuit like this shows just how far we’ve fallen.
It also said Mr. Barnett acknowledged that he had turned over 12,000 illegal immigrants to the Border Patrol since 1998…
He said he carried a pistol during his searches for the immigrants and had a rifle in his truck “for protection” against immigrant and drug smugglers, who often are armed…
“This is my land. I´m the victim here,” Mr. Barnett said. “When someone´s home and loved ones are in jeopardy and the government seemingly can´t do anything about it, I feel justified in taking matters into my own hands. And I always watch my back.”
This man is a hero and should be awarded, not sued.

So Bryce is officially gone...... He left on a plane this morning at 7:30 he will be heading to Ft. Jackson, S. Carolina. He will arrive there at 1:30 in the morning......Long day.... Also he is group leader so he has to get 6 guys from Spokane to Ft. Jackson with nothing wrong and let me say they are all young and stupid!!!! Poor Bryce... But that's the least of his worries....DRILL Sergeant must i say.... But i will be moving back to Ramah in 4 weeks and im counting down the days cause I dont want to be up here all alone... But I will be fine for 4 weeks I can handle almost anything....HAHA I wish....

He leaves on the 21st to go to FT. Jackson, South Carolina and he will be there for 9 weeks and 3 days. Then straight from there he will go to FT. Bliss, Texas which is by El Paso.... And the unofficial day he will get back home is in May 16th!!!!

So today Bryce got his official day of when he is leaving for Boot Camp Jan. 20th, 2009. He is so excited and I'm excited that he is doing what he wants to do. I'm going to miss him dearly cause its for 4 months straight...EWWW But in the long run it will be great for his future and for the future of our family....His boot camp alone is 9 weeks and then he will do individual training and that's another 7 weeks. I'm proud of what he is going to do for our country and for every ones freedom. I never thought i would be a military wife but hey i guess heavenly father has other plans for me. Maybe to pop out kids and be a great mother who knows. HAHA. Well just wanted to keep everyone updated and i will let you know when he leaves.
